Frequently Asked Questions
Will my legitimate Web visitors have to match images, respond to challenge requests or complete any other tests before submitting a form?
Absolutely not. The point of Form Armor is to stop form abuse without abusing your users. Remember the good old days, when Web forms were created to make it easier for users to register and submit information? Wouldn't you like it to be that way again?
How does Form Armor work?
When your Web site user submits a form, the results are immediately processed by the Form Armor servers and checked against more than 100 criterion to separate SPAM and abusive entries from valid ones. Form entries identified as SPAM are stopped before being sent to your inbox or database, and valid entries are delivered and/or posted to the email addresses or database you specify. The entire process is completed within a few milliseconds, so Form Armor protection remains is invisible to your users.
Criterion are evaluated and adapted daily (sometimes hourly) to ensure that as spammer tactics evolve and adapt, Form Armor will adapt as well.
Is Form Armor easy to install?
Form Armor is extremely easy to install and use. Since it's a hosted solution, you don't need to install any software, plug-ins or APIs, nor do you need to add any lengthy scripts to your forms. For each protected form, you'll only need to change the HTML form action tag and then remove any other form-to-email scripts that might already exist. Usually this takes just a few minutes per form.
How much does it cost?
All Form Armor accounts include a free 14-day trial with no obligation. FREE accounts are available for basic contact forms, and subscription plans begin for as little as $9.00 per month.

I'm still getting a few SPAM entries through my form. What do I do?

If you do have any SPAM entries that slip through, please forward the form entry details to

for further research and analysis. Your help is invaluable in continuing to modify and adjust our SPAM detecting methods and criterion.
Why was Form Armor created?
Form Armor was created to address a critical need on the Internet. Contact forms and other forms are an essential part of most Web sites and existing systems such as CAPTCHA place the burden on the individual user to prove they are valid before being allowed to submit. We believe this is akin to saying a user is guilty until proven innocent and that's no way to treat your visitors. In addition, CAPTCHA and other systems are just not very effective so we set out to find a better way, and we've found a much better way with Form Armor.
Will Form Armor work with my Mac, Safari, Linux, Apache, etc.?
Form Armor works with any Web site, any operating system, and with all browsers.
Can I use Form Armor to stop SPAM on my forum, blog, wiki or bulletin board?
At the moment, Form Armor is only available to prevent SPAM entries for Web site contact forms, online information forms, and online registration forms.
